Social Advocacy, Inc. under the domains of a Community Mental Health Center instituted activities highlighting concurrent disorders beginning in June of 2011 involving clients, families, and members of the community. These activities progressed to the point of engaging the support of a Chairman of Commissioner’s, President of the NAACP, and two State Representatives. The programs under the auspices of a Community Mental Health Center ended in September, 2013. However , plans to involve, educate, and encouraged dialog in the communities was contemplated due to the recognition of the effectiveness of community involvement towards the dissemination of knowledge in the communities. After reaching out for guidance from national organizations to include the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Drug Abuse, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, guidance, and support was offered. In August of 2014; Social Advocacy, Inc. requested and was accepted as a Partner by: Creating Community Solutions. A community activity has been concluded, and plans are being made to implement other activities to facilitate community education, and dialog on mental health issues In the communities. These activities are pro bono.
Social Advocacy, Inc at this time has not achieved 501c3 status. Therefore, clinical interventions to address the needs of “the People” have not been instituted at this time. Clinical interventions when instituted will employ “Best Practices” towards the facilitation of treatment for individuals with serious mental health disorders, and co-occurring disorders. The philosophical perspective of the corporation is: Recovery is the healing of the Mind, Body, and spirit. The cognitive and behavioral motto is: “Plant a Positive Seed. Watch them Group. Social Advocacy, Inc. seeks to provide “State of the Art” services for America’s Veterans and families. Although, no individual seeking services (and meeting criteria ) will be excluded.
